News from the Ile-de-France Territory of Co-Responsibility

As promised, we organized a special meetingwith a local territory - Paris 14th / Malakoff / Vanves - within the regionwhich took place on Thursday September 13 2007. Regarding the conceptual aspect of ourprojects, we are rather satisfied of the results. The meeting took place in the associative space managed by Florimontassociation at the ground floor of the building called "Le Château Ouvrier" (Paris14th).
Representatives of various associations ofthe district were present, 2 local councilors, the IRIS team with the IdFResponsible Territory coordination group and Mrs. Francine BAVAY, vicepresident of the region.
In the first part, we presented IRIS, its objectives,its members and projects, in particular the Responsible Territories ; Mrs.Francine BAVAY also spoke and expressed her support to this concept within theIle-de-France region.
In the second part, related to theassociative activity of the local territory, Muriel ROCHUT of Florimontpresented all associations present by themes of activity. Then, Mrs.Marie-Thérèse ATALLAH, elected ecologist of the 14th town hall gave someexamples of her work using the territorial approach.
We were agreeably surprised by the richnessof citizen activity of this district! A meal shared in the open air (provided by "Un Monde Gourmand", a socialintegration enterprise) was the prelude for a passionate debate, introduced byChristine Gent, the president of IRIS, about how the 14th's inhabitants wouldsee the application of the Responsible Territory concept and what are their"dream" for this district.
This concept and its interest at the local level may appear abstract, indeed,the meeting's participants wished for precise and concrete action proposals. Finally, the results of the evening arepromising: Mrs. ATALLAH supports the project and is ready to take part in thecoordination group, The participants proposed to have a coordinator from theirown local territory and already chose Muriel ROCHUT for the job, and at the endof the meeting, they asked the IRIS team to make a specific proposal of action,which we are preparing at the moment.
A local work within the regionalResponsible Territory is no longer a dream! to be continued...
