PROVINCIA AUTONOMA DI TRENTO
The autonomous Province of Trento constitutes, with the autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen, the Trentino Area - High Adige/the southern Tyrol. The agreement signed in Paris in 1946 by the ministers De Gasperi (Italy) and Gruber (Austria) guaranteed the equal rights for the German language and Italian language inhabitants and the attribution of a legislative and executive autonomous authority. The transfer of official competences and financial resources allowed the provincial government to make significant changes in social policies and employment.
A large network of productive and social enterprises is an important referent for the Province's social inclusion policy.
In 2004 the autonomous Province of Trento took part in the launching of the European dialogue Platform on ethical and responsible initiatives for the fight against poverty and exclusion, and currently it belongs to the IRIS inter-network where it takes part also as a responsible territory for social inclusion.
