ASECO is a European network of consumers organizations working together to promote responsible consumption in Europe. Currently, member associations represent twelve European countries and more are ready to join, as the Alliance is open to new entries on condition that they share its ethical approach to consumer issues and commit themselves to the network's mission.Network's objectives:Founded in 2003, ASECO works for consumers' protection and promoting sustainable consumption. By representing consumers, ASECO members cover the various subjects of Individual civil liberties and respect for solidarity rules are therefore a presupposition in members' activity.
At local or national level, member associations work independently with consumers on relevant subjects, asserting traditional consumer rights, promoting responsible consumption and supporting consumer-citizenship.ASECO member organizations concentrate on consumers' capacity and responsibility to improve market economic behaviour.ASECO's flexible administrative structure facilitates exchange and dialogue between its members as well as common public actions.
