IRIS is the Inter-network of responsible economy initiatives. Founded in January 2007, it is the connection between European and international networks representing different families of responsible economy initiatives : responsible finance (FEBEA, INAISE), Fair Trade (IFAT), responsible consumption (ASECO), local partnerships between farmers and consumers (URGENCI) and Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE), with the participation and support of institutional partners (Council of Europe and the Trento Autonomous Province, Italie).
IRIS aims to create synergies between the different networks in order to fight against poverty and social exclusion and promote sustainable social development with responsible economy.
Reponsible Territories are a new concept initiated by IRIS.These are towns and/or regions where different methods of fighting poverty and social exclusion are working together : conventional humanitarian aid methods (those of public authorities and NGOs) and alternative methods of the responsible economy.
In Responsible Territories, public authorities, enterprises, associations and citizens are responsible together for the well being of all and the social integration of vulnerable populations. In Responsible Territories, responsible economy is well developed and is working together with conventionnal humanitarian aid methods in order to create a sustainable humanity.
